From an entry of 70 Danes Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy wins his 13th CC and BOB from leading all rounder Lee Cox. It was hot day but Guy kept his cool to claim the ultimate award. His full sister, Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori, topped her Open Bitch class and was awarded the RCC. Later Guy was awarded WORKING Group 2 under Bill Browne-Cole, his fourth Group 2 award - he is getting so close! Thank you for all the positive comments on the day and later on social media, Lesley and I are justifiably proud of these kids.

(#12) Working Group Shortlist What a lovely day Lesley and I had at Windsor today - perfect dog show weather, super size ring and of course Her Majesty keeping a watchful eye on proceedings. Delighted with Guys achievements, he never lets us down and always gives a super performance. Many thanks to breed judge Leah Connolly and group judge Christopher Quantrill. Well done to all the other winners today, thanks to those who stayed behind and supported us - it is greatly appreciated.

A wild and windy day for the Northern Great Dane Club and their Championship Show. Sheila Richens judged the males and awarded Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy 1st in Open Dog and later the RCC. Gillian Rose judged the bitches and awarded Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori 2nd in Open Bitch. With the final decisions between both judges Guy was awarded Reserve Best In Show. Delighted with our kids who both performed impeccably, we are justifiably proud. Here is Judge Sheila Richens critique -Very well known winner, and I can understand why. Well marked, dark brindle, with super classic head. Dark eye and melting expression. Strong crested neck with good shoulder placement, and straight bone. Not as wide in front as some, which can effect feet placement, but has excellent spring of rib and depth to chest. Correct topline with hard well angulated rear, and good width across croup, which enabled him to travel around the ring with ease, with a lithe springy action with precision. This dog ,when standing, cannot be ignored. His outline, condition, and presentation is second to none. A worthy champion, and happy to give him RCC today. Well done.

Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy wins 1st Open Dog, DCC and BISS at the Scottish GDC Championship Show under Sally Lewis. From an entry of 68 Danes Guy tops the lot claiming his 11th CC.

Lesley and I are just home after a fabulous day at Southern Counties CA. Sincere thanks to breed judge Steve Atkinson who awarded; Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy - 1st Open Dog, DCC (#10) and BOB. Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori - 1st Open Bitch and BCC (#9). (Jr. Cr. Ch. Am. Ch. King Arthur De Casaarabel X Ch. Selmalda ZiZi’s Journey J.W.) Guy went on to claim Working Group 3 under Espen Engh. Guy also topped the Eukanuba Champion Stakes (Working/Pastoral) under Kimmo Mustonen and later in the day was awarded Runner Up to the beautiful Fox Terrier.

Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy claimed his 9th CC at Bath CS under all rounder judge Mark Cocozza. A super win for Guy who also was awarded BOB from an entry of 61. There was no placing in the Group but Lesley and I were delighted with his overall performance, so proud. His full sister, Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori was 2nd in Open Bitch. The SWGDC had their B2B show and Carol Gray awarded Guy 2nd in Open and the RCC. Lori was 4th! A super venue and facilities, a wonderful day.

Lesley and I have had a super day in Belfast. Aside from the showing we've had a lovely time with Fiona & Andy talking Danes, drinking fizz and capturing some wonderful photo memories. Thank you so much for Margot's Champion Breeder Certificate - so proud! The results are in Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy - 2nd Open Dog and RDCC. Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori - 1st Open Bitch, BCC (#6) and BOB from Keith Baldwin. Working Group shortlist, final 6, under Jackie Stubbs. Fiona & Andy, with their our newly crowned Ir. Ch. Selmalda After All, was 2nd in Open and considered for the RCC. Thanks Andy for the photos! Great to catch up with everyone today, well done on your awards. Judge Keith Baldwins critique - Open 1st Chappell's Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori. 18 months old Fawn with dark shaded muzzle, elegant throughout of top quality, head of good length and strength, scissor bite, brown eyes of medium size, ears set on high, clean neck well arched fitting smoothly into her body, ribs well sprung and deep, front legs straight with big flat bone, stands on good feet, muscular hindquarters with good turn of stifle and hocks set low, on the move she is in tune with her handler holding her head high and covering the ground well, BCC and BOB. I was pleased to see her shortlisted in the Working Group.

**DANE OF THE YEAR 17/10/21** Yearling Dog 1st Chappells Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy, Brindle. His head has parallel planes and length with darkest of eyes, ears sit well and are used to perform great expression. Front not over or underdone with shoulders of good angulations. He has tight feet set on straight legs and flat bone. Rib cage springy and of correct length for body type. Over his rear he has ample muscle. He moves! He performs a laid back action yet with power pushing from his rear and reach, foot placement during movement never off straight coming and going and easy. My BEST DOG on the day. It was an early start on a very wet day to Border Union AS where breed judge Ken Humphries was appointed. It was the last Junior classes for both Guy and Lori and both ended their campaign on a high. Ch. Selmalda Jealous Guy won his Junior class and in the challenge was awarded the RCC. Ch. Selmalda Oh Lori also won her Junior class and in the challenge was awarded her 5th CC and ultimately BOB. She is pictured here with judge Ken Humphries. We can always rely on Lori to put in a good performance and she certainly did that in the Group. John Ritchie was the judge and clearly he spotted Lori early on - she went on to claim WORKING Group 1. Judge Ken Humphries critique - Junior 1st Chappell's Selmalda Oh Lori. What a lovely female, well put together, carrying just the right amount of weight. Lovely expression, correct front assembly, good angulation helped her move like a dream. (I note that she went on to win the Group).

Working Group Judge John Ritchies critique - Group 1 SELMALDA OH LORI (AI) Breed: Great Dane (MS L & MR A Chappell) - this magnificent Fawn Dane caught my eye as she entered the group and she certainly didnt disappoint me when going over her what you see is what you get and I was more than happy with her overall quality and excellent conformation she has a super head, such a noble expression but totally retaining her femininity super balanced skull with dark well shaped eyes, correct ears and overall I loved her expression, correct for mouth, beautiful crested neck leading to super wither placement, equal upper arm to shoulder length creating the correct angulation, tight elbows, super pro-sternum just right for her age, strong straight front legs and tight feet with flexible pasterns, enough depth of chest with correct spring of rib, strong topline, sloping croup leading to lovely long tail, super bend of stifle with neat strong powerful hocks, she was so sound out and back and showed a powerful collected side gait in total unison with her owner another who must surely gain her title soon and am sure will go onto have a great show career.
