No CCs at Manchester but a wonderful entry for breed judge Maria McGuinness. She awarded her Best Dog to our own Junior winning Fawn Selmalda Koochie Ryder JW. S. Angel Of Harlem topped her Junior class and S. The Kiss J.W. won her Post Graduate class. Kiss was awarded Best Bitch and competed and conquered her litter brother for BOB. Into the Group and over the moon to be shortlisted to the final eight in a hotly contested group under respected judge Philip Greenway. Great start to 2014 for the Selmalda kids.

Well what a year to remember it was for the Selmalda Team. This year saw debuts for our own three youngsters, S. Koochie Ryder, S. The Kiss and S. Angel Of Harlem as well some of their litter mates. An unbelievable year as Ryder concludes the year as Top Puppy (with 8 awards), 2 CCs and 6 RCCs, Kiss wins 2 BPs and 1 RCC whilst Harlem gave Ryder a run for his money with 7 BPs, 1 RCC and qualifies for the prestigious POTY competition. Many thanks to everyone for their continues support and appreciation, it really has been an exceptional campaign that we have all thoroughly enjoyed.

At LKA Albert Wight judged the breed and S. Koochie Ryder JW won his Junior Dog class. John Agnews Brindle bitch, S. Love Rescue Me was 2nd in her Junior class. Unfortunately Harlem and Kiss were not there for the final show of the campaign.

Patricia Lowe (NZ) judged the males and awarded S. Koochie Ryder J.W. 1st in his Junior Dog class. Delighted that Olly, Selmalda Oh Boy At Thornbrae, Brindle and only four days out of the Puppy class, took 2nd place for owners Ronnie Lawton and Jim Sneddon. Rory Lowe (NZ) officiated in the bitch ring and he also loved the Brindle with S. Love Resuce Me, litter sister to Olly, claim 1st in Junior for owner John Agnew. Unfortunately both Harlem (in season) and Kiss (not entered) could not be there. Good work today.

Colin Richardson judged the dogs and awarded Selmalda Koochie Ryder JW First in Junior and eventually the RCC. Elaine Hyde was the appointed judge for Bitches and Brindle litter sisters S. Love Rescue Me and S. Angel Of Harlem were second and third respectively in their final Puppy class, Harlem having accumulated 7 BPIBs through her campaign. S. The Kiss won her Junior class. Another good day.

At the South Western GDC Open show today S. Koochie Ryder achieved 1st in Junior, thanks to judge Leah Wiltshire, and thus he now has sufficient points for his JUNIOR WARRANT (subject to KC confirmation). He was also awarded Reserve Best Dog. So from now on its Selmalda Koochie Ryder J.W.

How proud were Lesley & I to be presented with both the TOP POINTS award for the Premier League with RYDER & KISS. A wonderful campaign to date for these two kids and delighted they were recognised for this double achievement.

The famous Norwegian Greyhound breeder Espen Engh (Jets) was awarding CCs for the first time at Midland Counties and it proved to be another successful day at the office. S. Koochie Ryder won his Junior class and in the challenge was awarded the RCC, his 5th. S. Angel Of Harlem duly won Puppy Bitch and later collected her 7th BP award. S. The Kiss was 3rd in Junior Bitch. In the Puppy Bitch Stakes John Agnews Brindle, S. Love Rescue Me, won 3rd place under Peter Jolley. We do enjoy Midland Counties!

What a day at SWKA! Frank Kane was the judge and he duly awarded S. Koochie Ryder 1st in his Junior Dog class and then his 2nd CC in the challenge! S. Angel Of Harlem won her Puppy Bitch class and then went onto BPIB. S. The Kiss was 5th in her Junior class. A long day but very rewarding!

A couple of days over in Ireland for the Belfast Dog Show where Peter Jolley judged the breed. S Koochie Ryder duly won his Junior class and was awarded the RCC in the challenge. S. Angel Of Harlem won her Puppy Bitch class and later was presented with her fifth Best Puppy In Breed. S. The Kiss was 2nd in Junior. Later in the Puppy Group judge Robin Newhouse awarded Harlem Working Puppy Group 4. A great day, a long weekend but well worth all the effort.

Along with our good friends John and Heather Dyson we travelled over to Brussels with four Danes where Irish judge John R Walsh was our appointed judge. We were delighted that all four, S. Koochie Ryder, S. Im Yours JW WJW10, S. Angel Of Harlem and S. The Kiss all won their respective classes. John and Ralf went on to claim the CAC and RCACIB. Ryder, Kiss and Harlem all competed for the Best Junior award and Ryder was given the nod. In the Junior Group (FCI Groups 2/3/4/7/8) under Slovakian judge Mr. V. Piskay Ryder duly topped the lot, over 75 exhibits, to take Junior Group 1 - what a result!

Great day at Darlington. S. Koochie Ryder was 2nd in Junior but got called back in and was awarded the RCC. S. Angel Of Harlem won her Puppy Bitch class, claimed BPIB and then went onto Working Puppy Group 4. S. The Kiss was 3rd in her Junior class. Also S. Koochie Ryder was 2nd in the All Breeds Petplan Junior Stakes and brought home £75! Thanks to breed judge Andrew Brace, Group judge Ronnie Irving and Petplan judge Frank Kane.

A very satisfactory day at Richmond where Kevin Young judged the breed for the first time. S. Koochie Ryder won his Junior Dog class and S. Angel Of Harlem won her Puppy Bitch class, the two biggest classes on the day! S. The Kiss topped her Junior Bitch class and Harlem finished off with Best Puppy. Great day!

A lovely day awaited at Three Counties where Helen Hankins was our appointed judge. S. Koochie Ryder and S. The Kiss both won their respective Puppy classes with Ryder claiming BPD. Making her debut was our six month old Brindle bitch, S. Angel Of harlem who performed like a pro and claimed third in her Minor Puppy class. The highlight of the day was when Ryder was awarded top honours in the Purina Pro Plan/Dog World Puppy Stakes (Working/Utility) under respected judge Liz Cartledge and was therefore required to return on the last day of the show for the final. Delighted!

At the East of England GDC Open Show Selmalda Koochie Ryder, at only 9 months, topped the lot to go BEST IN SHOW. Many thanks to Gillian Rose for recognising his qualities and, in agreement with the co judge Keith Baldwin, awarding him top honours. Keith judged the bitches and placed S. The Kiss was 2nd in her Puppy class.

Cath Gilbert officiated at the main show where Belg. UK Ch. Selmalda I Am Rock JW duly won Open Dog. In the Special Award classes Jenny Wiltshire also awarded Rocco top spot in the Open class.
