At first seemingly from different moulds they both 'shout' Great Dane and have similar attributes from the breed standard. However during the class judging I preferred the smooth topline of 1 and his overall attitude and showmanship. CC and on the referee's decision BIS.

Patsy Hollings critique - Open 1st Chappell's Selmalda ZiZi's Journey J.W., this two year old was perfectly presented and in super condition. She presents a picture of dignity both standing and moving where she displays her correct construction and balanced angles to move with long, graceful action, working with handler at all times, she has elegance and showed true type, strong and feminine, a class act. BB, BIS in agreement with my co-judge.

Lesley & I were over the moon that Essi gained her 3rd and crowning CC at Midland Counties. We are so thankful to her caring owners John, Heather & Candice who not only provide her with a super home but have battled tirelessly to over come her coat condition. Now she is 100% and back out - at the three shows over the last few weeks Essi has topped the Open class on each occasion. We are so appreciative of the judges who not only awarded Essi her CCs, Stella Clark, Jeff Horswell and Barrie Croft, but also all the many other judges who have appreciated our stock over the years. This is our 14th home bred Champion and we are very proud. Here is Essis ad, carefully crafted by LisaCE, with thanks as always to Kerry for securing a prominent slot within this weeks Our Dogs.

Wonderful day at Darlington DSS. Whilst Lesley is away in Cyprus we were up at Ripon where judge Paul Harding had drawn a super entry. Naturally delighted with the results - S. I am overwhelmed by the amount of support that the Great Dane has received for this Pedigree Paws Unite 2016 walk. Many, many thanks to all those who have contributed so far. Here is Gavin, being interviewed by Marina, about the background to the walk, the breeds, the benefactors and of course the competitive spirit amongst the breeds. So can the Great Dane people rally round and continue to pledge as little or as much as they can afford to support ZiZi and I on the Lancaster Canal, Preston walk - we are ready, with just over a week to go, and we want to raise as much as we can. Lesley and I had to say goodbye to Ryder on August 18th following his diagnosis with bone cancer. This is the first time we have felt that we have been able to talk about this loss and needless to say we are devastated. Ryder gave us everything all of the time and we miss him dearly. A true gentleman, never a cross word and a character and temperament that made it an honour to have him within our life, if only for a very short time.

Lesley & I are so proud of Ralf, Selmalda Im Yours J.W. WJW10, as he bowed out of the show ring last Sunday at The Great Dane Club Championship Show. Putting in a sterling performance, as he has done throughout his career, we wanted to say a big Thank You to his co-owners John, Heather & Candice with whom he lives with and who have conditioned and presented him so immaculately. Sired by the Norwegian Brindle, residing in Denmark, Highesteem Keep Em Talking and out of our own S. CMon Girl J.W. he won a number of top honours throughout his career including 1CC, 1RCC, 1CACIB, 1RCACIB & 1RCAC plus a huge World Junior Winner title that he collected in Denmark in 2010. In 2010 he was Top Points Premier League Male and last year was Top Fawn Male. He never let us down, loved his many road trips and looked the part on all occasions as per his photo below which was taken on Sunday. Thank you and enjoy your retirement Ralf X.

Lesley, Jacqui & I are absolutely delighted with Rugers development and progress and were super chuffed when he was awarded his 2nd RCC at The National last week. Here is judge Ann Ingrams critique; Yearling Dog - 1st Chappell & Williams Selmalda The Journey J.W., impressive masculine dog with the most wonderful bone and feet, combining substance and elegance. Well balanced head with lovely expression, long crested neck running into well laid shoulders, good depth of brisket, correct topline and tailset, strong hindquarters, very sound on the move keeping his nice topline, well handled to make the most of himself, it was a pleasure to award him the RCC.
